About the Library
The library of the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology is a specialized scientific library and the central source of information for the institute. The library's primary task is to provide literature and information for the institute's staff and their guests. The library is open to them around the clock. Students and other interested persons may use the library by appointment at library@gea.mpg.de.
Currently the collection comprises linguistic and archaeological works. The collection is supplemented by biological, psychological and anthropological books. In addition, there is access to 30,000 electronic journals in the EZB. Our book holdings are supplemented by online databases with full texts. The online catalogue OPAC contains the library holdings and also all papers written by members of the institute.
