History of Geoanthropology

While the idea of the Anthropocene as a geological epoch has been declined by some, the concept of the Anthropocene itself is fruitfully applied in a wide range of disciplines. By analyzing existing publications from the last three decades with methods from the framework of socio-epistemic networks, the project aims at uncovering the historical roots of the emergent science of Geoanthropology. Unifying analyses from social, material and epistemic directions, the multifaceted approach also allows to show up blind spots during the genesis of the discipline and highlights power relations in the social network supporting its evolution.
